So, the democrats won the mid-terms. Good for them. But is that good for Americans, though? The facts of reality are slowly creeping in through the fog of the after-party hangover. Trump is still president, Iran is still a threat to America, the debt is still above $40T and growing. There's not much good the democrats can really do except undo the horrors of Trump - deportations, tariffs, the estranging of allies and friends. And, of course, undo Trump himself along with his acolytes - confiscate all they have, put them in prison and throw away the key.
And then, what?
A return to woke? To the racism of anti-racism? To the anti-human environmentalism? To the acceptance of tribal cultures as diversity? To the appeasement of terrorism as freedom of expression and anti-colonialism? To the fight of stupidity against (artificial) intelligence? None of these will do Americans any good, because they ARE NOT good. The democrats do not have a solution. They never have. Swapping the Christian God of the right for the Democratic God of the left as the standard of GOOD is just shifting the weight of the nation from the right foot to the left. The notion of freedom of the individual is foreign to the liberals. To them, letting each individual carry their own weight is absurd. That we, the nation, the society, must carry everybody's weight is self evident. So the democrats will steer the country in their own image. And the acts of terror will continue. And the debt will keep on growing.
The pendulum has begun its swing to the left. Will the wrecking ball at its end crash the left wall of the American Ideal, just as Trump crashed the wall on its right? Maybe, maybe not. But if it doesn't it will be, again, temporary, having changed nothing of essence, having only accumulated more national weight. And nothing less than a return to the Principles at the foundation of America will stop it.
